Baseball/Softball Reopening Plan
Submitted By Laura Kranenburg on Sunday, May 23, 2021
With the new Ontario Reopening plan released we are still currently on hold and unable to start our season.  The new Plan will allow us to have 'Outdoor sports...for up to 10 people' once we enter into Step 1, which is estimated to be approximately June 14th.  Most of our teams will have more than 10 players on the team so we are working on a plan to get the kids on the diamond even if it won't be with their whole team at once.  Games are allowed to be played as part of Step 2 in the Opening plan which could be early July.

We have been working with the Town to draw up a safe return to sport plan and we will be in touch with every parent in the next couple weeks to outline what that will look like.

We do have a problem though.  We need baseball coaches for our WOBA teams.

We are currently in need of 3 Senior Rookie (Birth year 2012/2013), 2 Mosquito coaches (Birth year 2010/2011), 2 Peewee coaches (Birth year 2008/2009) and a Bantam coach (Birth year 2006/2007).

Unfortunately, if we are unable to find coaches we cannot run these teams. We have a Development Coordinator, John Campbell, who will help you with qualifications and we have practice plans available to help save you time planning your practice.  If your reservation is that you are a shift worker- team up with someone else and share the coaching responsibility!  We have coaches who do this and it works.

Please consider coaching.  We have 329 kids registered for baseball this summer and we want to have them all able to play.  Please email John Campbell ([email protected]) ASAP if you are able to coach this year.

Thanks for helping us get kids back to baseball!
