U9 Players and Parents,
On behalf of the Saugeen Shores Executive, I would like to welcome
you to the 2023 U9 Ball Season here in Saugeen Shores.
We have been busy preparing for the upcoming season and wanted to share with you that we will be hosting 2 evaluation nights scheduled for our U9 players.
Monday May 8th 5:30-7:30 Cameron B/D
Wednesday May 10th 5:30-7:30 Cameron B/D
Thursday May 11th 5:30-7:30 (Rain Out Date)
The evaluation nights are meant to be a fun, first time on the field for the season, type of practice to allow the coaches to balance the teams for the 2023 season. For those interested we will also utilize these evaluation nights to pick our new U9 Select Team. U9 is truly two years of baseball growth for your young baseball players, and development is the primary focus to allow for fun on the diamond not only today, but for years to come!
Players chosen for the U9 Select Team, will still play all games and practices with their WOBA teams, but will also practice (Wednesday 5-630, Cameron D) once a week, and play in the tournaments listed below. Later in the summer attempts will be made to schedule exhibition games against OBA teams in the area, that would be played during our regular practice time slots to prepare for the tournaments.
JULY 7-9 Pickering 9U Select Tournament (Approximate cost would be $50 per player plus accommodations) LABOUR DAY Provincial U9 Select in Etobicoke is currently full, but we have been placed on the waiting list.
All players receiving this email are eligible to try out for the U9 select team, but are not obligated to participate. We will ask each player if they intend to tryout for the select team at their first evaluation date that they are able to attend.
Please have your child bring the following items to their evaluations:
Glove Bat (One will be provided if they don't own a bat)
Shoes (Baseball Cleats recommended)
Helmet Water Bottle
