following notes:

1. OBA Line-up cards and score sheets will be used.  Lineups should be exchanged 10 minutes prior to

game time.  The home team will be the official pitch counter and visiting team will be the official

scorekeeper. The scorekeeper and pitch counter will be identified for easy access for coaches and

umpires should  they require it.

**** For Rep Tournament play, including Rep Play-Offs:

All pitch counts must be entered live-in-game using the Baseball Ontario Pitch Count App pitch by pitch.

The Home Team is responsible for:

Ensuring that both teams are correctly assigned to the game in the pitch count app prior to ground

rules, entering the pitch counts for both teams live in-game, using the Baseball Ontario Pitch Count App,

and submitting the game for approval immediately following the end of the game.

The Home Team Manager is responsible for showing the submitted pitch count game to the on-site

(park) convener within 15 minutes following the end of the game and providing them with the Game ID

from the app.

The on-site/park convener will capture the Pitch Count Game ID for each game which will be collected

and to be submitted to the Baseball Ontario office by the tournament convener at the completion of the

tournament.

2. Important – All coin tosses will be completed 30 minutes prior to the start of your game. Coin

tosses will take place at your field by an onsite convener.  A member of your coaching staff must arrive

at the field 30 minutes prior to your scheduled start time to take the coin toss. At the conclusion of the

coin toss, the home team will be responsible for pitch counts and away team will be given the

scoresheets and lineup cards.  Score sheets must be returned to the tournament official at the

conclusion of your game. The team travelling the furthest will make the call on the coin toss.

3. In case of rain/and or other delays the tournament schedule may be revised at the Convener's

discretion, following the games as drawn by OBA.

4. Games will be 7 innings in length with a 2 hour time limit as per U10/11 special playing rules, RP2.17.

There is no time limit for Championship game.

5. There will be no pre-game warm ups on the fair ball side of the infield.

6. In all OBA games, including the championship, an 18 run mercy rule will apply after 3 innings (2 ½ if

the home team is ahead), a 15 run mercy rule will apply after 4 innings (3 ½ if the home team is ahead),

and a 10 run mercy rule will apply after 5 innings (4 ½ if the home team is ahead).

7. The decision of the umpire(s) is final. Protests will be resolved on the field by the protest committee.

8. Managers and coaches are responsible for the conduct of anyone involved with their team

throughout the tournament including coaches, players, and spectators.

9. The Saugeen Shores Minor Baseball Association accepts no responsibility for any injuries, damages

or losses to anyone during the tournament.

10. Teams are asked to conduct post game meetings off the field. Please gather all equipment and

personal items as quickly as possible to keep the games on schedule.

11. Pitch counts of the Official Pitch Counter will be the ONLY numbers used by the umpire during a

game regardless of what numbers (pitch counts) any coach or spectator may have – no appeal or

protest of the numbers recorded will be permitted. It is suggested that coaches check the pitch

count of a pitcher recorded by the official pitch counter at the conclusion of each inning.

12. A Team representative  shall sign the official game sheet immediately following the conclusion of the

game and confirm the Pitch Counts on the Pitch Count App acknowledging the Pitch Counts of the

pitchers used during the game. In the event of a discrepancy in numbers, the pitch counts of the official

pitch counter shall stand. In the event a coach fails to sign the game sheet, the pitch counts recorded

will be considered official and no appeal or protest of the numbers will be allowed at a later time.

13.  All pitch counts will be available on the Pitch Count App if questions arise.

14.  A team’s turn at bat in an inning will end after 3 outs have been recorded or 4 runs have been

scored. The last declared inning will have an 8 run maximum. On any play where the last allowed run in

an inning is as a result of the ball leaving the playing field (overthrow and dead ball) and an out of the

park homerun results in more than the maximum runs allowed in an inning scoring, all awarded runs

will score, this only applies to dead ball awards.

15.  Tournament information and schedule can be found at saugeenshoresminorbaseball.com and will be updated as volunteers are available to do so, at a minimum at the end of each game day.

Have a great tournament!
