JUNE 16-18, 2023

Oba rules will apply.
Check in at Tournament Headquarters at Lamont Park one hour prior to game time
Teams need to be prepared during the tournament to play 20 minutes ahead of scheduled game time.

30 minutes prior to each game there will be a coin toss to determine which team will call for home or away.
An SSMBA representative/delegate will be there to administrate this. In the event that there are two teams playing each other from the same town, Rock, Paper, Scissors on first go will make the call.

Home team will be the official score keeper. The visiting team representative must sign off on the score sheet after the game.
The home plate umpire will declare the game time and the home team scorekeeper will record the time on the game sheet.
There are no warmups in fair territory on the infield.

BATTING
Each batter shall receive a maximum of  5 strikes as called by the umpire.
The batter shall not be called out if the 5th strike is called a foul ball.

GAMES
Games will be regulation 7 innings. No game will start after 1hour and 30 minutes.
d. Five (5) innings shall constitute an official game except that a winner is declared and the game declared official at any point that the opposing team is unable to win or tie the game. A turn at bat is complete when there are 3 outs or 7 runs have scored.

Until the ball is fed into the machine, outfielders shall position themselves fifteen (15) feet beyond the base paths.
Machine speed for the pitching machine is 40 mph.
In pool play there will be 2 points for a win and 1 point for a tie.
There will be no warm ups in fair territory on the infield.
MERCY RULE
Mercy Rule: 18 runs after 3 innings, 15 runs after 4 innings, and 10 runs after 5 innings or any subsequent inning thereafter
The decisions of the umpires are final. Protests will be resolved on the field by a protest committee.
The score of a forfeit game will be 7-0 and 5 innings for tie breaking purposes
In the event of a tie OBA rule RP7.4  will be used.
A 1) Teams with a forfeit loss are ineligible for tiebreakers
2) Head to head record among tied teams
3) Team with the smallest runs against ratio (runs allowed/number of defensive innings played) in games among tied teams
4) Team with the smallest runs against ratio(runs allowed/number of defensive innings played) in all games.
5) Team with the highest runs for ratio (runs scored/number of offensive innings played) in games among tied teams.
6) Coin toss
B When there are 3 or more teams tied, the tiebreakers will exclude RP7.4  (a)(ii). After the winner of that tie breaker is determined, the tiebreakers will continue, if necessary, excluding RP7.4 (a)(ii) as long as there are 3 or more teams tied.  When only 2 teams remain, the tiebreaker will start at RP7.4 (a)(ii)

Managers and coaches are responsible for the conduct of anyone involved with their team throughout the tournament including coaches, parents and spectators. A warning will be issued by the umpire  and if there is another incident then the coach will be ejected from the team.

The SSMBA accepts no responsibility of any injuries, damages or losses to anyone during the tournament.

Player of the Game awards will be given at each game to a deserving player from each team. Each coach is asked to choose a player from the opposing team and have their players line up on the infield. As well we ask that your team remove their equipment and personal belongs from the dugout in a timely manner so the next team can  get set up and keep the games on schedule.

Have a great tournament.
